“A Smoky Hallucination of Sex, Art & Beauty.”
Presented by Bohème Sauvage:
Le Pustra’s Kabarett der Namenlosen is Berlin’s ONLY and most provocative show, re-imagining the infamous 1920’s in Berlin. This contemporary interpretation presents the zeitgeist of the period with très chic cinematic visuals and poignant performances staged in an original, postwar Berlin venue.
Kabarett is an immersive theatrical play exploring the sexual and artistic freedom but also the dark, brooding undertones of the celebrated and well documented Weimar Republic Cabaret Culture during the interwar years.
Set in an infamous and mysterious ‘Kabarett’, the story unfolds with a séance invoking the darkling of decadence, the iridescent Muse and bon vivant, Le Pustra and all the colorful habituées of this surreal ‘Nachtlokal’ of a forgotten past. Witness the Nameless return in extravagant flashbacks from another time for your voyeuristic pleasure. Le Pustra has created a truly sophisticated and daring production that will move and haunt you forever.
So… leave your inhibitions at the door and enter a forbidden world of scandal, intrigue, self indulgence. Celebrate the Grotesque, the Bizarre and dance the night away with The Beautiful and The Damned.
Kabarett der Namenlosen includes selected music from Frederick Hollander, Kurt Weill, Rudolph Nelson, Mischa Spoliansky, Willy Rosen, Noël Coward, Bertolt Brecht and poetry by Kurt Tucholsky.
Kabarett der Namenlosen recently appeared on the BBC Four series ‘Tunes for Tyrants’ performing ‘Das Lila Lied’.
